New Jersey Online Gaming Revenue Up By 8.3% For May 2024

The New Jersey Gaming department has reported another successful month during May, with a rise of 8.3% in gross gaming revenue up to $510Million.

New Jersey Gaming Revenue On The Rise In May

Gaming revenue was on the rise in New Jersey yet again last month, with the Garden State reporting steady growth in revenue again despite some mixed results in the department.

The nine casino properties in New Jersey generated $239.1m during May, which was a mammoth improvement of 5.2% from 2023 figures during the same month.

Year on year figures for gaming revenue in New Jersey through 2024 so far are currently very similar to 2023 with $1.11billion generated through the first five months of the year.

Online gaming was a major player in the New Jersey gambling revenue during May, with the online sector accounting for $192.1m which was a whopping 19% increase compared to April this year.

The huge rise of online gaming is reflected in yearly figures, with a 20.6% rise so far in revenue compared to the same period in 2023.

Sports Betting In New Jersey

Despite the positive month for New Jersey’s gaming revenue, sports gambling was on the decline in the Garden State – with gross revenue from sports betting dropping to $78.8m in May.

The decrease in revenue to $78.8m represented a 4.2% decline compared to April’s figures.

Although sports betting revenue struggled in New Jersey during May, gross revenue for the year is still up by 37% in 2024, reaching $513m so far.

Gaming revenue in NJ has been driven largely by sports betting throughout the year so the disappointing month of May will be of no immediate concern for the state.
