Harrah’s Columbus casino in Nebraska has received the green light to begin works on their new site, which will become the state’s first permanent casino once building is complete.
State gaming regulators finally approved Harrah’s project at the end of last week which will make the casino the first permanent site to open in Nebraska, when doors are due to open on May 13th.
Harrah’s Columbus has already invested $100Million towards a new horse racing track that will be located near the new casino, providing gamblers in NE with plenty of exciting entertainment in 2024.
The first casino in Nebraska will feature a Caesars Sportsbook as well as 400 slot machines and 11 live dealer tables in the relatively small 17,000 square foot location.
There will also be a race book opened up at Harrah’s Columbus, but live horse racing won’t begin until August later this year.
Plenty of amenities will be available to customers when casino doors open next month – including a Marriott Hotel that should open around the same time as the casino in May.
Harrah’s Columbus To Become Nebraska’s First Permanent Casino
Caesars opened a temporary casino at Ag Park in June 2023, but that closed earlier this year in preparation for Nebraska’s first permanent casino scheduled to open this summer.
While a grand opening date of May 13th has been set for Harrah’s Columbus, Caesars representatives have stated that there may be some flexibility over that date with work on the site due to begin in the coming weeks.
Staff are being employed for the casino by the day and Harrah’s Columbus is set to offer hundreds of jobs with roles including: sportsbook staff, waiters, bartenders, slot technicians, hosts, cashier cage workers, security officers, slot attendants and table game dealers.
