The BetMGM Poker Championship will run for seven weeks and from June 6th – June 11th, it will be hosted by the Aria Resort and Casino.

MGM Resorts International will sponsor the tournament in Las Vegas and it will have a $3,500 buy-in, offering players a $3 million guarantee.

The tournament will also have two starting flights and there will be 100+ qualifiers in BetMGM regions, including New Jersey, Michigan, Ontario and Pennsylvania.

BetMGN’s director of Poker, Luke Staudenmaier, spoke at a recent press conference about the partnership with ARIA and how the prizes have improved this year.

He said: “The BetMGM Poker Championship is all about creating excitement and more action for poker enthusiasts nationwide.

“Through online qualifiers where BetMGM is live, we are offering players more ways to win their way to Vegas and the opportunity to earn larger prize packages and guarantees.

“Our partnership with ARIA continues to get stronger, allowing us to build on the omnichannel poker experience.”

Aria’s director of poker operations, Ryan Kirk, was also positive about the relationship with BetMGM and believes it ‘solidifies’ the company’s place in the poker industry.

He said: “Partnering with BetMGM for the BetMGM Poker Championship solidifies ARIA’s position as a global leader in tournament poker. We anticipate another record-breaking event this summer as we offer a $3m guarantee and add more tournament tables.”

Leon Wheeler, MGM Resorts Las Vegas director of poker operations, hopes the tournament can build off the success from last year.

He said: “Resorts World Las Vegas is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of PokerStars and the NAPT this November. After last year’s tremendous success, we are eager to capitalize on that momentum and host an even more spectacular festival in 2024.”
