BetMGM and the Associated Press (AP) have agreed a deal for the sports betting and gaming company to become their new official odds provider.
As part of the deal, the global news network will use BetMGM’s lines in its various formats. Also, the AP will retain all editorial control of its content.
Therefore, BetMGM will now fully supplement the AP’s daily sports best odds fixtures, game previews as well as all sports stories with mentioned odds.
Furthermore, the partnership will help strengthen the relationship between the two industry powerhouses in their respective fields.
BetMGM is considered by many to be one of the best online gambling sites in the United States of America. The AP is a highly reputable not-for-profit U.S news agency that has been in operation since 1846.
Barry Bedlan, AP’s director of global text and commercial products, said: “People want trustworthy sports betting information. We are pleased to work with BetMGM to provide a dependable and credible reference point for our customers and audiences.”
Matt Prevost, BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer shared his excitement at the new deal. He explained it is a brilliant opportunity to work alongside a news agency of the AP’s statue.
BetMGM And The Associated Press
“It is a special opportunity for BetMGM to align with The Associated Press, a leading global news source that billions around the world rely on for the most up-to-date coverage.
“Being a trusted resource within that forum is an important connection to expand our reach, and we look forward to providing content that enhances the organisation’s coverage,” he concluded.
Previously, the AP had a similar odds deal with FanDuel – owned by Flutter Entertainment. That deal came to fruition in May 2021.
That partnership also saw FanDuel odds being displayed across all of the AP’s sports pages, game previews and all forms of sports stories that mentioned odds.
Meanwhile, the new deal means BetMGM continue to expand their presence. Not only do they have the deal with the AP, they are also working alongside X, formerly Twitter.
The strategic partnership sees them become the social media platform’s live odds sports betting partner. Earlier this month, BetMGM and Tottenham Hotspur announced they were on the cusp of a deal.
Reports indicate a multi-year deal has been agreed so the gambling operator will become the English Premier League club’s training kit partner.
