In an exclusive interview with InstantCasinos.com, Arsenal Invincible Lauren expressed his disappointment at Spurs fans that cheered Erling Haaland’s goals. The ex-Gunner backed Ange Postecoglou’s post-match outburst towards parts of the Tottenham Hotspur fanbase.

Lauren also praised Spurs players’ spirited performance in their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City, saying super sub Stefan Ortega saved The Sky Blues on the night.

Postecoglou Is Right to be Frustrated With Spurs support

Ange Postecoglou had a verbal dispute with a Spurs supporter behind the dugout for celebrating City’s first goal. The Australian laid into the Spurs fan in his postgame press conference and Lauren admitted he understood Postecoglou’s viewpoint;

Lauren: “Absolutely [I was surprised by Spurs fans cheering Haaland’s goals]. After what Postecoglou said about the game two days ago, these are professionals. They are looking to qualify in a European position for next year and the fact that they didn’t win means they can’t break into the Champions League places. Therefore, I understand the frustration of Postecoglou.”

I Cannot Criticise Tottenham Players – Stefan Ortega Was Too good

A positive result for Tottenham against Man City would have boosted rivals Arsenal’s chance of winning the title and Lauren could not fault their tactics or ambition despite the fact that the were sunk 2-0 on the night;

Lauren: “Tottenham played a really intense game. They tried to press high up right from the beginning of the match and they created some chances for Son and Kulusevski. Tottenham really pushed in order to try and take the three points. The fact that they didn’t win was down to the great work of the Man City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, and the way that Man City defended as a team after they scored. So I have nothing critical to say about the way Tottenham played.”
