The FanDuel Sports betting app and website launched in Washington DC this week, with GambetDC replaced as the districts official sports betting platform.

Residents of Washington DC can now bet on sports with FanDuel from within state, after the Office of Lottery and Gaming confirmed on Tuesday that GambetDC would no longer be the official sports betting platform in DC.

GambetDC will no longer be taking wagers on both mobile app and website, with both halting operations on April 15th.

Office of Lottery and Gaming executive director, Frank Suarez stated: “With FanDuel’s launch, DC residents and visitors will have access to a best-in-class sports wagering platform.

“FanDuel’s entry into our market brings not only a reliable, customer-friendly sports wagering experience to the nation’s capital, but it also includes guaranteed revenue that will be used to fund vital city programs.”

FanDuel is now available in 23 states including DC, as the sports betting platform continues to take the nation by storm. Visitors to Washington and any other of the 23 states can also use FanDuel while in the state on either the app or the website.
