An off-strip casino in Las Vegas is set to undergo a major expansion project in the near future, with the family-owned hotel and casino looking to expand its already vast gaming footprint.
Ellis Island hotel-casino has agreed plans to add over 6,415 square feet to the site in 2024, with Clark County already approving the plans put in place earlier this year.
The casino will undergo a remodel as well as an expansion this year. Providing a bigger main casino floor alongside an audio/visual area for customers and a brand new sports book within the property.
Vice president of development for the project expansion is one of the casino’s family owners and Christina Ellis who is excited to grow the family business just off the Las Vegas strip.
“This renovation gives us the opportunity to create an elevated gaming and entertainment experience while honoring our history and legacy,” she said.
Ellis Island will be losing one of their old features with the new build, as the casino will have to knock down its existing microbrewery to make space for the new floor according to the plans. The brewery will be renovated and located closer to the sidewalk in the new build for easier access to customers.
The Ellis family are excited for the build and they believe the new look project will be complete within the next 10 months in time for their 56th anniversary.
“With Ellis Island’s 56th anniversary on the horizon, we are proud to be entering into a new era,” Anamarie Ellis, vice president of operations, said.
“This project has been in the works for several years and we are excited to introduce a renewed aesthetic and offering.”
