Sports betting is a huge and rapidly growing market in the US. Events like the Super Bowl and March Madness have made sports betting ever more popular, with more and more states legalizing the practice in recent years.

As it stands, 38 states now have some form of legal sports betting, meaning there is plenty of money to be made for both bettors and operators.

Below is a list of the top five biggest sports betting operators in the US, as of April 2024.

5. Boyd Gaming Corporation

Market Cap: $6.45 billion

Fifth place on our list goes to Boyd Gaming Corporation. As one of the biggest sports betting operators in the US, Boyd operates 28 gaming and entertainment centers across the nation, in ten different states.

Boyd also owns Boyd Sports, a sports betting app offering online wagering, race wagering and in-game wagering services. Boyd Gaming Corporation has a market cap of $6.45bn.

4. Churchill Downs Incorporated

Market Cap: $9.12 billion

Next up is Churchill Downs Incorporated. Ranked fourth on the list, the company’s biggest asset is the Kentucky Derby.

Specializing in horse racing, racing bets, entertainment, casino gambling and online wagering, the company also owns Twinspires, a subsidiary which offers online horse racing betting.

Churchill Downs’ market cap is currently $9.12bn.

3. Caesars Entertainment, Inc.

Market Cap: $9.46 billion

Into the top three now, Caesars Entertainment takes the bronze medal. The third biggest sports betting company in the US, Caesars is an integrated casino company, which operates through multiple brands.

These include Caesars, Harrah’s, Horseshoe and Eldorado. Offering traditional casino play, sports betting and online gaming, Caesars had a market cap of $9.46bn.

2. Wynn Resorts, Limited

Market Cap: $11.46 billion

Second place goes to Wynn Resorts. A leading integrated casino company, Wynn offers betting and gambling services through the leading sports betting app, WynnBET.

The Wynn Race & Sports Book owns three betting stations and provides players with ‘the ultimate betting experience’. Wynn’s market cap stands at $11.46bn.

1. DraftKings Inc.

Market Cap: $21.6 billion

But taking the crown as the biggest sports betting operator in the US are the kings themselves. DraftKings offers iGaming, sports betting and digital casinos, as well as leading the market in fantasy sports.

DraftKings is valued at $21.6bn.
