Circa Sports’ Kentucky expansion comes as the company is broadening its footprint across the United States.
Launching operations in Kentucky on Monday, the Las Vegas-based sports betting operator now covers five jurisdictions across North America.
Circa started accepting wagers in 2019, and now operates in Illinois, Nevada, Iowa and Colorado.
Hoping to provide a new and unique experience for sports bettors in Kentucky, the operator features maximum betting limits in its app. Circa’s Kentucky expansion will also see them offer tight moneyline splits, while giving bettors the chance to parlay future betting markets.
Although relatively new to the sports betting market, Circa already has partnerships with ProhiBet, SlamBall League and Marquee Sports Network.
Online sports wagering has been in operation in Kentucky since September 2023, and has already developed into a very promising market.
The state posted handle of $855 million in November and December 2023. That figure equated to adjusted gross revenue of $106m, and more than $15m in tax revenue.
In the same period, FanDuel and DraftKings were the top sportsbooks, as both operators saw a handle of $327m and just above $39m generated in revenue.
Circa Sports Kentucky Expansion Provides New Opportunities
In October 2023, Circa Sports went live in Illinois with online wagering. This opening timed up with the opening of a temporary retail sportsbook at Full House Resorts’ American Place Casino, located in Waukegan.
Featuring 36 TVs and a digital odds board, the bricks-and-mortar establishment comes ahead of Circa’s future plans. The operator is looking to open a permanent facility in 2025, mirroring its Las Vegas location, which has 1,000 seats.
And with such positive progress made already, it seems only a matter of time before further expansion. Circa has been steadily growing and expanding since it launched, with more states likely to be added to its list of operations in the near future.
