Gambling Operators Make Responsible Online Gaming Association

Seven operators have decide to form the ‘Responsible Online Gaming Association’, as bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics Betting and Gaming, FanDuel, Hard Rock Digital and PENN Entertainment come together.

The aim has been revealed and the operators are looking to ‘educate, equip, and empower consumers to enjoy the fun of online gaming in a responsible way.’

It will be conducted by the Responsible Online Gaming Association’s Executive Director, Jennifer Shatley, who has picked up a host of experience in a career spanning over two decades.

Hatley’s main role will be to overlook the ‘widespread education to all relevant parties on the subject of responsible gaming.’

The seven operators have decided to put $20 million into the project, in hopes of funding and promoting the topic of responsible gaming correctly.

The Executive Director has spoken publicly about the opportunity to lead the new association and hopes for extreme growth in the coming years.

She said: “I am humbled, honored and excited to be selected to lead ROGA during this important period of growth in legalized mobile gaming,”

“Many of America’s largest legal mobile gaming operators will be establishing a framework that helps to aid in responsible gaming education and awareness.”

There are several factors that will go into the success of this new association, which are to fund research, provide and raise awareness to customers and education for the responsible gaming industry.

Shatley is looking to make an independent data clearing house, alongside a certification program, which she believes will ‘maximize efforts’ when supporting responsible gaming education.

She said: “Together, our members will work alongside researchers, experts, regulators and stakeholders to promote responsible online gaming and maximize our efforts to support additional responsible gaming education and awareness,”

“By coming together with a clear set of objectives, ROGA and our members will work to enhance consumer protections and help provide easier and more efficient access to responsible gaming tools for consumers to enjoy the entertainment of online gaming.”
