Borgata Hotel Casino in Atlantic City has named Niklas Rytterstrom its new president and chief operating officer, replacing Travis Lunn.
MGM Resorts International made the announcement on Tuesday, March 26. Longtime executive Rytterstrom will oversee the casino’s daily operations and strategic direction.
There will also be a focus on continued employee engagement, as well as guest service and community relations.
Rytterstrom will succeed Travis Lunn, who is returning to Las Vegas as president and COO and Mandalay Bay and Luxor, both also owned by MGM Resorts.
MGM Resorts operations president, Steve Zanella, said: “Nik has a long history with MGM Resorts and brings a wealth of operational experience and industry knowledge to the property and Atlantic City.
“Nik’s strong leadership skills and strategic vision will continue to differentiate Borgata in a competitive landscape and enhance its position as a market leader.”
Who Is The New Borgata Hotel Casino President?
Niklas Rytterstrom started at MGM Resorts in 1999. He first worked as an assistant hotel manager at Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Most recently, he was general manager at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Rytterstrom also served as president and COO of the Mirage, Excalibur and Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, as well as general manager of Gold Strike Casino in Tunica, Mississippi.
He has a bachelor’s degree in hotel administration, issued by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Global Gaming Business Magazine also named him one of the “Top 25 People to Watch in 2024.”
Speaking on his appointment, Rytterstrom said: “I’m honored to be embarking on this new journey at Borgata.”
