Delaware iGaming Revenue continued to climb again in February 2024 to $3.9million. It’s the second successive month of the new year that revenue has risen in the Diamond State.
In January 2024, $3.4m was reported in revenue and last month has seen an extra $500,000 posted. BetRivers – the main iGaming provider – have enjoyed a strong start to life in Delaware.
BetRivers are owned by Rush Street Interactive – and they opened their doors to residents of Delaware in the first week of January this year. Prior to the switch, iGaming revenue barely got over $1.4m a month in 2023.
Who Are Rush Street Interactive?
Rush Street Interactive (RSI) are an online gaming and sports entertainment company whose markets are focused in the United States, Canada and Latin America.
RSI currently owns three brands – BetRivers, PlaySugarHouse and RushBet. The First State has three online casinos – Delaware Park, Bally’s Dover Casino and Harrington Raceway & Casino. They have all been reworked and had new games added.
The best performer in 2023 came via Delaware Park’s iGaming video bets. They brought in the most revenue of any operator or online casino, generating $1.45m in gross gaming revenue. For March 2024, it’s likely that figure will rise to approximately $2m.
Delaware iGaming Revenue: Sports Betting In Delaware
Delaware was actually the very first state in the U.S to legalize sports betting after the Supreme Court overturned the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act in 2018.
Sports Betting is available through the BetRivers app – as well as in person at one of the three retail gambling locations (Delaware Park, Bally’s Dover Casino and Harrington Raceway & Casino).
For the first five years after sports betting was passed, the state had an exclusive contract with 888 Holdings (William Hill). This expired at the end of 2023 – hence Rush Street Interactive starting their partnership.
