WynnBet’s Michigan’s iGaming operations arm is being bought by Caesars Entertainment, Inc
It’s rumoured the deal will also include the long-term supplement of their iGaming market access rights with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
This will mean Ceasars will gain entrance to the Sault Tribe’s iGaming platform that will give access to their existing customers to be moved seamlessly to Caesars own Michigan-based iGaming platform. As long as the new agreed extension passes the regulatory approvals.
Matt Sunderland, SVP & Chief iGaming Officer for Caesars Entertainment said:
“As we continue to grow our iGaming franchise, the assumption of WynnBET’s iGaming operations in Michigan allows us to tap into a significant market and customer base, providing a crucial step forward in growing our digital products and offering players more ways to play. We are honored to work with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and look forward to growing with them in Michigan.”
Austin Lowes, Chairman of Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians went onto say:
“It was paramount that our next partner in iGaming possessed both expertise in the U.S. iGaming market and a history of strong partnerships in Indian country. We believe we found that with Caesars and look forward to being part of their new iCasino offering.”
The Sault Tribe also operates and has ownership rights for Kewadin Casinos, which includes five casinos located in Michigan that are land-based.
Caesars has revealed that later in 2024, as a result of this deal, WynnBET’s iGaming operations will have a full rebrand to fall into line with one of the Caesars own brands.
