Larne will win the 2024/25 Irish Premiership, according to our AI Supercomputer. The Inver Reds will win their third successive Gibson Cup, further emphasising their recent footballing dominance in Northern Ireland.

Not only that, but Linfield will face one of the worst seasons in the clubs history, with Glenavon suffering relegation from the top flight for the first time in 20 years.

We asked our AI Supercomputer to preview the upcoming 2024/25 Irish Premiership campaign, and here it is below.

The upcoming 2024/25 Irish Premiership season is sure to be an entertaining one, with plenty of narratives heading into the start of the new campaign. Larne are bidding to win a hat-trick of Gibson Cup’s, meanwhile Niall Curry’s Portadown have returned to the top flight after one season down in the Championship.

According to our AI supercomputer, there will be many twists and turns throughout the 2024/25 Irish league season, resulting in Tiernan Lynch’s Larne winning their third successive league title come May.

Larne have been a dominant force in recent years in Northern Ireland, winning their first league title two seasons ago and backing that up with a second league success last season. They head into the upcoming campaign as the outright favourites to win the title once again, and it would take a brave person to bet against them.

The usual suspects of Linfield, Cliftonville, Crusaders and Glentoran will likely finish in the top half and may even challenge Larne, but not the Blues according to the Supercomputer. AI is predicting a dismal season for David Healy’s side, resulting in a fifth place finish in the league and no silverware in cup competitions either. This really would be a huge shock to Irish league fans, but time will tell if the Supercomputer is accurate or not.

One prediction the Supercomputer has made that could well come true is that Carrick Rangers will once again improve on their last campaign and launch themselves into the top half for the first time in the club’s history. Start King’s side have gone from strength to strength in recent years, and a busy transfer window and some large financial investment has certainly helped them even more this summer. A sixth place finish for the Amber Army would be an incredible season.

At the opposite end of the table, our Supercomputer has predicted a huge shock with Glenavon finishing bottom of the pack. Stephen O’Donnell’s side blew hot and cold last year, but have made some astute signings this summer. However, AI is predicting the Lurgan Blues will really struggle this season, winning just seven games in total in the league.

Newly promoted Portadown will take a 10th place finish on their return to the top flight, with Ballymena United also improving vastly in Jim Ervin’s second season at the helm. Loughgall are predicted to struggle somewhat, but ultimately stay in the Irish Premiership come the end of the season when all is said and done.

As for the rest of the league, the AI Supercomputer is predicting improvements for Declan Devine’s Glentoran and Declan Caddell’s Crusaders. Cliftonville will once again go close to winning the title, ultimately finishing in second place behind the Inver Reds.

Coleraine will fall into the bottom half of the table for the first time in a long time in Dean Shiels’ first season in charge of the Bannsiders, with Rodney McArey’s Dungannon Swifts proving they are capable of beating anyone on their day, finishing in eighth place for a second successive season.

Should the league play out like the AI supercomputer is predicting, we are in for a rollercoaster of a ride in the 2024/25 Irish Premiership.

Combining the likes of ChatGPT, Gemini and Bing AI, a prediction was formulated by the supercomputer to predict the final league table standings for the 2024/25 Irish Premiership season.

This included providing the supercomputer with a list of all 12 teams in the league and adding how many summer signings each team have made and how many players they have lost so far.

We also asked the supercomputer to predict the full league table including points, goal difference, matches won, matches lost, matches drawn and how many overall games they played.

To make the supercomputer prediction as accurate as possible, we also provided it with extensive information about each club in the Irish Premiership. This includes their recent form and how they performed last season, who their manager is, their financial position and the general feeling from fans about the upcoming season.

Based on all of these factors, the supercomputer predicted that Larne will win a third successive Gibson Cup, whilst Glenavon will be the team relegated from the Irish Premiership come the end of the season.

The supercomputer also predicted that Linfield will massively struggle this season and come fifth, with Cliftonville coming second, Carrick Rangers climbing into the Top 6 and Glentoran also making big improvements.
