The New Jersey Gaming department has reported another successful month during May, with a rise of 8.3% in gross gaming revenue up to $510Million.<\/strong><\/p>\n Gaming revenue was on the rise in New Jersey yet again last month, with the Garden State reporting steady growth in revenue again despite some mixed results in the department.<\/p>\n The nine casino properties in New Jersey generated $239.1m during May, which was a mammoth improvement of 5.2% from 2023 figures during the same month.<\/p>\n Year on year figures for gaming revenue in New Jersey through 2024 so far are currently very similar to 2023 with $1.11billion generated through the first five months of the year.<\/p>\n Online gaming was a major player in the New Jersey gambling revenue during May, with the online sector accounting for $192.1m which was a whopping 19% increase compared to April this year.<\/p>\n The huge rise of online gaming is reflected in yearly figures, with a 20.6% rise so far in revenue compared to the same period in 2023.<\/p>\n Despite the positive month for New Jersey’s gaming revenue, sports gambling was on the decline in the Garden State – with gross revenue from sports betting dropping to $78.8m in May.<\/p>\n The decrease in revenue to $78.8m represented a 4.2% decline compared to April’s figures.<\/p>\n Although sports betting revenue struggled in New Jersey during May, gross revenue for the year is still up by 37% in 2024, reaching $513m so far.<\/p>\n Gaming revenue in NJ has been driven largely by sports betting throughout the year so the disappointing month of May will be of no immediate concern for the state.<\/p>\nNew Jersey Gaming Revenue On The Rise In May<\/h3>\n
