Detroit Casinos Earn $113.3m In May Revenue Report<\/h3>\n

Through Detroit’s three land-based casinos, the city made $113.2m in revenue during May which was a slight increase from April’s figures last month.<\/p>\n

The ‘Motor City’ generated a total of $111.3m during May, which was a 3.2% increase from the total of $107.9m made during April. Sports betting accounted for the remaining $1.9m in revenue made by the city.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly MGM Grand Detroit Casino was responsible for the majority of revenue during May, with 46% of the total made coming from the city’s largest land-based casino.<\/p>\n

MotorCity Casino trailed just behind MGM Grand and was responsible for 31% of the casino revenue during May, with Hollywood Casino accounting for the remaining 23%.<\/p>\n

All three of Detroit’s land based casinos reported growth in revenue from the month prior, in what was an impressive May for the city’s land-based sector.<\/p>\n

Retail sports betting also saw a jump in May compared to last year’s figures, with the $11.1m an improvement of just under a million compared to the same month in 2023.<\/p>\n

ESPN Bet Launches In Detroit<\/h3>\n

ESPN Bet officially opened in Hollywood Casino at Greektown at the end of April, with May being the first full month of operations for the sportsbook in Detroit.<\/p>\n

The new sportsbook no doubt contributed towards the $1.9m revenue for sports betting, with Hollywood Casino general manager saying: “Bringing ESPN Bet to Hollywood Greektown combines Penn\u2019s premier sports media and sports betting offerings to create an amazing atmosphere for fans to watch and bet on sports.”<\/em><\/p>\n
