Treasure Chest Casino has announced its new brick-and-mortar casino in Kenner will open to the public on June 6.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n The new venue will replace the Riverboat Casino and is double in size, measuring in at 48,000 square feet of entertainment and gaming space.<\/p>\n Over 900 slot machines – with 300 terminals offering brand new slot games – have been installed and there will be 32 table games on offer.<\/p>\n Parent company the Boyd Gaming Corporation has confirmed there will also be four new restaurants and 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space.<\/p>\n In terms of business hours, the Treasure Chest Casino will be open from 8am till 3am Sunday to Thursday. Friday and Saturday, customers are welcome 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have been eagerly awaiting our grand opening for some time and are ecstatic to finally be able to open the doors to Treasure Chest\u2019s loyal patrons and guests,\u201d said\u00a0Kim Etland, vice president and general manager for Treasure Chest Casino.<\/p>\n \u201cThe new property allows for more space, games, and restaurants to serve and fill a premier entertainment need in our community,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n Originally, the Treasure Chest opened in a replica riverboat on Lake Pontchartrain in Kenner in 30 years ago. Then, there was just the one restaurant and no convention space.<\/p>\n Nowadays, the\u00a0Louisiana Legislature in 2018 approved a law allowing riverboat casinos to operate onshore. Boyd Gaming and the city of Kenner firmly believe the move will draw in larger crowds.<\/p>\n \u201cA casino is a casino, whether you\u2019re on a boat or on land. It don\u2019t make a difference. I\u2019ll still be playing,\u201d said Kevin Drake, 68, a Kenner resident who frequents the establishment on a weekly basis.<\/p>\nTreasure Chest Casino<\/h2>\n
