Maryland casino revenue dropped through April, as month-on-month figures took a dramatic plunge during a disappointing month for its six land-based casinos.<\/b><\/p>\n
According to Maryland\u2019s latest betting revenue report, the Free State earned $163.2Million during April from slot and table games at their six in-person casino sites.<\/p>\n
April\u2019s casino revenue figures dropped by a whopping 6.6% compared to last years numbers for the same month. There was also an 8.8% decline in month-on-month revenue from March this year, when Maryland casinos reported their best monthly figure in 2024 so far with $178.14m.<\/p>\n
March was Maryland\u2019s most successful month for casino revenue so far this year but despite a disappointing April, last month\u2019s numbers still topped January and February where casino profits within the state lagged.<\/p>\n
Online casinos still aren’t active in MD, but the state had the opportunity to legalize them earlier this year. The senate has confirmed they won’t file a bill an online casino bill until 2025 at the earliest date.<\/p>\n

The numbers showed that almost every casino in Maryland struggled in April this year, with the only exception being Hollywood Casino in Perryville that redeemed the state with a 6% rise on its figures from last year.<\/p>\n
One of the main factors in Maryland\u2019s struggles during April was the lack of gaming contributions which totalled to just $69.8m – a 3.6% annual drop and 8.8% monthly decrease.<\/p>\n
