The Mississippi Gaming Commission has revealed Mississippi generated $206Million in casino revenue in February.<\/strong><\/p>\n The state has generated $206.7m in casino revenue, according to a report from the Mississippi Gaming Commission – from the 26 casinos located in MI.<\/p>\n This comes through poker, table games and slots, as residents in Mississippi continue to place their bets at non-tribal casinos.<\/p>\n Generating $206.7m means there has been an increase of 14.6% when comparing to January this year, which reached $180.3m.<\/p>\n It is also a slight increase from February last year, which also overtook the $200m at $206.3m and continues to be an important month for Mississippi.<\/p>\n When totaling a revenue for casinos in MI, there are three sections that contribute – Coastal, Central and Northern. The Coastal section made $13.15m in revenue, the Central region was $27.9m and the Northern sat at $47.3m<\/p>\n The revenue through casino is not the only form of betting income, as Mississippi also made $2.3m through sports wagering – something that is being hotly contested in the state.<\/p>\n This is down 65.6% from January, which is a significant drop and may be related to the sporting events during the month – including the NFL postseason.<\/p>\n Mississippi’s sports betting handle was also subject to a noticeable decrease, dropping by 29% when compared to January 2024 – sitting at $31.2m.<\/p>\n In February 2024, the state House passed House Bill 774 which related to online sports betting and it will not go through the processes at the Senate committee.<\/p>\n Mississippi allow sports betting in physical locations, while also using BetMGM at its operated sportsbooks and only on its grounds in the state.<\/p>\n This bill is looking to legalize online sports betting, as residents are still unable to bet on sports via online sportsbooks – but have been able to make physical bets at kiosks since 2018.<\/p>\nMississippi Generated $206Million In Casino Revenue<\/h2>\n
