History will be made this summer as the World Poker Tour (WPT) heads to the People’s Republic of China. The Main Tour poker festival is pencilled in for June 18-24.<\/strong><\/p>\n Held in partnership with Allied Gaming & Entertainment (AGAE) and Wynn Macau – the inaugural and prestigious WPT Macau festival will be coming to the ‘Vegas of the East.’<\/p>\n It’s a groundbreaking move and poker enthusiasts from all over Asia are likely to descend on Macau. It’s central and ideal location makes it easy for people to attend.<\/p>\n June’s extravaganza promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime event. The WPT Macau festival is set to be headlined by a HK$40,000 buy-in Championship event (June 20-24).<\/p>\n The WPT High Roller event is set to be one of the most popular tournaments of the festival. It currently has a buy-in of HK$200,000. This will be contested from June 19-20.<\/p>\n The Wynn Macau property will play host to the historic festival this summer. The world famous venue is a luxury hotel and casino resort which boasts over 1,000 rooms and suites.<\/p>\n More notably, the Wynn Macau offers 25,400 square metres (273,000 sq ft) of casino space. It really is the ideal destination for the WPT to extend its reach in Asia.<\/p>\n If the festival is a huge success – as many predict – it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Macau become a central poker hub over the next couple of decades.<\/p>\n\n The entertainment market in Macau is already thriving – and the introduction of the WPT Macau festival in June will see it generate a huge spike in tourism.<\/p>\n Many new avenues are set to be explored in its gaming and hospitality sector.
