Wyoming is still in the state of ‘sticking’ when it comes to the legalization of online casinos as the latest House vote rejects the proposal.<\/strong><\/p>\n State representatives refuted the opportunity by a vote of 25-36-1 to agree an iGaming legislation in 2024.<\/p>\n Therefore, this means the House Bill 120, which was filed in early February by Rep. Robert Davis, will not be discussed or implemented at any stage during the legislative session.<\/p>\n This bill needed a minimum of 42 representatives voting in favor.<\/p>\n \u201cThis bill does several important things. It begins to eradicate the illegal iGaming market right here in Wyoming. That activity is taking place without any protections for our citizens who are playing these games. \u2026 If we can install the guardrails to do this, it will roll out just like our sports wagering has.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Rep. John Winter later told the House the Wyoming Gaming Commission had agreed that it was not in a position for online casinos to be regulated.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s my understanding that the gaming commission wants to shut this down. They think it\u2019s going too fast and they\u2019re concerned about the youngsters that have telephones that can do this gaming.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n However, sports betting in Wyoming has been legal online and in retail settings since September 2021, and saw record revenue highs in January 2024<\/p>\n Wyoming sports betting operators took over $20.2 million in bets, which saw a revenue of $2.6 million, which is a state record.<\/p>\nBefore the vote Robert Davis said:<\/strong><\/h4>\n
